Violent cartoon shows of today

I watched a Japanese cartoon with a friend this evening. Dont really like what they air these days. Gone are the days when cartoon are fun to watch. It's filled with violence now. So much gore. So much blood and killing. Whatever happened to the industry? Dont they produce normal cartoon anymore. Saddd
